Nyse spg8/23/2023 When looking at the last quarterly results, Simon Property Group is continuing its recovery from the terrible results in 2020. In the following article, I will take a closer look at Simon Property Group again and start with the last quarterly results. So far, the stock has not reached its previous all-time highs again (around $225 in 2016), but it is trading at pre-pandemic levels and does not seem like a bargain anymore and despite dividend increases, the dividend yield is also lower. With these two aspects being the main reason for my interest in Simon Property Group, we must take a closer look at the stock once again. Additionally, the stock was (and still is) interesting for its dividend as it is generating a rather high passive income. However, the stock was interesting in the spring of 2020 when COVID-19 hit the world and drove the stock price of Simon Property Group to irrational low levels (in my opinion). The "Global" and "Silver Merger" are just used to enhance the design and clarity of the chart.Simon Property Group ( NYSE: SPG) is not my typical investment - it is not the wide-economic moat business I am usually trying to identify and invest in. The red and blue links distinguish between the interests held by Simon Property Group, Inc. The gray cards (legal entities) and links show the outside investors in Simon Property Group. Lexchart automatically shows the complexity. Elbow connectors would all overlap in a channel. This chart uses curved links among the legal entities instead of elbow connectors, because curved connections show the ownership complexity more clearly. The chart reveals the ultimate owners, David Simon and Herbert Simon, along with the outside investors: The blue entities highlight the insider or controlling interests in the organization. As a REIT it shows both a parent corporation and the limited partnership. This chart has several interesting characteristics. Do not rely on this chart for financial, legal, or investment decisions. The chart may not reflect actual legal entities or relationships. Elements are modified to improve the design of the chart. Jurisdiction Luxembourg Cohen & Steers, Inc.
